Use Nikwax TX Direct Spray On on waterproofs with a wicking lining.
Immediately after you have washed the clothing in Nikwax Tech Wash spray it generously on the outside with TX Direct Spray On then leave to dry. You can use TX Direct Spray On on unwashed clothing but it doesn’t work nearly as well. Done properly it really helps to make water bead up and run off the fabric again.
Always wash your outdoor clothing in Nikwax Tech Wash. Detergents strip away the water repellent coating on a lot of outdoor clothing, and detergents don’t rinse clear like Tech Wash.
Over time the water repellent coating (DWR) on your waterproof clothing will wear out and instead of rain beading up and running off it will start to soak into the fabric massively reducing it's breathability.
Nikwax TX Direct gives the fabric better water repellency making it shed rain better and reviving breathability
This all helps to keep your old jacket going for longer before you need a new one and keeps it performing at it's best.
