These are a brilliant crampon for winter walkers and very easy to put on.
You don't need a stiff winter boot, any reasonably sturdy walking boot will take these safely.
They pull on easily over the boot in seconds and give you spikes under your forefoot and heel.
Because they are shorter spikes and there are no front points these are much easier to walk in than traditional crampons.
These are built for general winter walking. If you are wanting to get more adventurous and do something like Striding Edge in deep snow then you will need proper crampons with front spikes. I have done Swirral Edge in these but it would have been safer with traditional crampons. If I hadn't had my Ice Axe to help me it would have been quite dangerous.
